Legends of Chima at the LEGOLAND Windsor Resort

The next big LEGO thing, Legends of Chima, is now available in toy shops around the world. It will also be coming to the LEGOLAND Windsor Resort, when the park reopens this March. It’s rare for a new theme to be so quickly fitted in to LEGOLAND, but this has been co-ordinated to ensure that visitors will be able to check out the mysterious world of Chima…

The latest news from the LEGOLAND Windsor Resort…

A heroic new attraction is arriving at the LEGOLAND Windsor Resort in 2013 as LEGO® Legends of Chima™ is brought to life in an exclusive 4D movie experience. The all new 12 minute animated 4D film, complete with high impact special effects, will immerse audiences in the fantastical LEGO world of Chima where tribes of animal warriors compete in epic battles for CHI, a mystical energy source of limitless power and destruction.
The story follows four young animals as they take a guided tour of Chima with Plovar the Parrot and become entwined in a struggle between good and evil as they help their hero Laval the Lion Prince do battle with Cragger the Crocodile King. State of the art 3D animation will bring the audience right into the heart of their journey as they sweep through dramatic landscapes, flying through the magical waters of Mount Cavora and soaring over the majestic Speedorz™ Arena of Chima in a high speed chase.  The climax of the adventure comes as Laval and Cragger take to their Speedorz vehicles in a super-charged, super-fast race to capture a precious supply of CHI. Will good prevail or will evil win the day?
Showing ONLY at LEGOLAND Resorts and Discovery Centres the LEGO Legends of Chima™ 4D Movie Xperience is an exciting introduction to this exciting new range from LEGO, bringing to life its key characters in a fast paced adventure set to enthral audiences. A range of special effects synchronised to the action on screen add the 4D element of extra excitement and drama. Watch out for wind, smoke, water and plenty of edge of the seat surprises and fast paced LEGO-tastic fun.

Guests to the Imagination Theatre 4D cinema at the LEGOLAND Windsor Resort will also get to meet Laval the Lion Prince in LEGO as a 1.2 m tall LEGO model stands guard at the entrance and a mini-figure costumed character will be making regular appearances throughout the Resort.
It has been said many times, but LEGO are demonstrating how well the company can fully co-ordinate a product line. As well as online games, video games, a TV series, comics, in-store displays and the rest, Legends of Chima will be jumping straight in to the LEGOLAND theme parks. The choice of a ‘4D’ film makes perfect sense, as it doesn’t require as much investment as building a physical ride – and when Legends of Chima is finished, it can be replaced with a new film.

It’s also great to see that LEGOLAND Windsor will continue to use the walk-around characters, and it makes sense to use to promote current LEGO themes. Pirates and Adventurers will always be associated with LEGO, but for an avid young builder to meet a character from a set they have just built will be great too.
